      RF Surgical Device ST-501

Radiofrequency surgery for hemorrhoids is a procedure that uses high-frequency energy to
selectively ablate or remove hemorrhoidal lesions. This technique coagulates blood
vessels with heat to minimize bleeding, reduces damage to surrounding healthy tissue for
precise surgery, and applies radiofrequency technology-also used in other medical fields
such as varicose vein surgery-to the treatment of hemorrhoids.

The ST-501 uses 4 MHz high-frequency energy. During radiofrequency surgery, the electrode
itself does not heat up instead, Joule heat is generated directly within the tissue to cut tissue,
control bleeding, and ablate lesions. This allows for precise separation of lesion boundaries during
surgery and, even in areas dense with nerves or blood vessels, significantly reduces
the risk of damage to critical structures through delicate tissue dissection.

It demonstrates excellent coagulative ability even in a blood-filled environment, effectively
achieving hemostasis of microvessels during incision. This significantly reduces intraoperative
bleeding, keeps the surgical field clear, lowers the likelihood of transfusion, and allows
precise control of coagulation depth with the electrode, thereby shortening the overall
      surgery time.

      FAQ
      • Dr. Oppel's radiofrequency (RF) method is based on the principle of increasing the temperature by vibrating moisture inside the cell, allowing for precise hemostasis and incision while minimizing heat diffusion to surrounding tissues. This is a key part of laparoscopic surgery, where conventional electrocautery machines have a risk of unnecessary thermal damage to surrounding organs or blood vessels due to high temperatures. Dr. Oppel reduces this thermal damage, reducing the formation of adhesions after surgery, It reduces surgical site swelling and inflammatory responses, positively impacting the patient's recovery. It can significantly lower the risk of nerve and blood vessel damage around delicate anatomical structures, especially during cholecystectomy or colorectal surgery.

      • Dr. Oppel produces significantly less smoke than conventional electrocautery machines, due to the nature of high-frequency energy, which reduces tissue carbonization. The reduced smoke generation facilitates precise work by allowing for clearer vision during surgery, and also contributes to protecting the operating room environment and the health of medical staff by reducing the amount of hazardous substances inhaled by medical staff. Of course, regardless of which electrocautery machine is used, the use of operating room ventilation systems and smoke evacuators is recommended.
