Medical device specialist Sometech (CEO Yang Hee-bong) announced on the 10th that it showcased laparoscopic surgical and oncologic imaging solutions at the 2026 Seoul International Society of Surgical Oncology (SISSO 2026), held at the Suwon Convention Center.

The conference brought together domestic and international surgical oncology experts to share the latest surgical techniques. At the event, Sometech presented its 3D laparoscopic systems VLS-200 and COT-200, 4K endoscopic system VES-400, and RF electrosurgical unit ST-501.

A company representative stated, “During the exhibition, there was strong interest in our 3D laparoscopic system VLS-200. Medical professionals from Korea and abroad experienced the equipment firsthand, and representatives from major university hospitals requested demos for clinical applications.”

According to Sometech, a hospital official commented, “If a model with an ICG (indocyanine green) fluorescence function is released, its price competitiveness compared to foreign equipment would increase the likelihood of adoption in university hospitals.”

Sometech plans to incorporate the feedback gathered at the conference into product enhancements. Based on demo requests from university hospitals collected on-site, the company will provide tailored technical support to expand its presence in the laparoscopic surgery market.

A Sometech representative added, “We plan to further develop flexible multi-joint surgical instruments and energy devices for our 3D laparoscopic systems, aiming to become a leading integrated platform company for minimally invasive surgery (MIS).”
